Amy Goodman – “The Arborfield Horses” Project Documentary
Amy Goodman is a highly respected artist and sculptor based in Hampshire. We originally started working with Amy to capture progress of her “Romsey War Horse and Trooper” memorial sculpture in 2013, which was unveiled by Princess Anne in 2015 and now lives permanently in the Romsey Memorial Park.
The Romsey War Horse project was filmed regularly over the course of two years, with short videos released at intervals to show project progress and share updates from key stakeholders, in addition to diving into some of the history surrounding the piece. In total, we produced over 200 minutes of content over the course of two years, released as a documentary series of sorts.
In 2018, Amy was commissioned by Crest Nicholson and Murdock Wickham to provide three sculptures of life size horses for their new development in Arborfield. After the success of the Romsey War Horse project, Amy asked us back to capture the project from the beginning, showing the sculpture in it’s various stages – from the original drawings through to the armature and clay builds, to the final bronze resin sculptures.
In this short interview-based promotional video filmed at Amy’s studio, Amy kicks off the project and explains what the plan is, the progress made so far and the future steps in the process of creating this unique sculpture.
