2025 In Review: Our Favourite Moments
2025 is almost at a close and we’re recapping some of our favourite projects from the past twelve months. It’s our annual tradition!
We’ve been polling our team and asking them for suggestions on which projects have stood out for them. It’s been tough to cut the highlights down. But then again, when has it ever been easy?!
This year we’ve been providing camera coverage for some of the best festivals in the UK. And we’ve also created some wonderful videos and live streams for businesses across a variety of sectors – including commercial cleaning, education, technology and more. Let’s take a look and see what we got up to!
IMAG camera packages for five of the UK’s best music festivals
We got our boots muddy at five of the UK’s best music festivals this year, providing live camera coverage for the LED screens.
Our summer started with Escape Records’ In It Together festival in Wales, who we’ve been working with since 2022. We were honoured to magnify performances from legendary musicians such as Kaiser Chiefs, Becky Hill, and Ronan Keating. A terrific start to the festival season!
In June, we made our way over to GoldCoast Oceanfest in Devon to provide camera services for one of their headline acts. And in July, we reunited with our friends at Escape Records for their brand new festival Together Again. Hosted at Bolesworth Castle, we were treated to headliners Olly Murrs, Jamie Webster and Dizzie Rascal. (Who pumped up the bass so hard that our trailer almost rattled itself to pieces!)
Finally, in August, we were back at Lakefest in Eastnor Castle Deerpark and Boomtown festival near Winchester. Lakefest once again proved itself as a small festival whose production value punches well above its weight. And Boomtown continues to shine as one of the most creative, immersive festivals in the country.
Overall, we had a fantastic festival season. And – to top it all off – our friends at Canon joined us at Boomtown again to film another case study about how we’ve been using their cameras. If you attended PLASA or IBC this year, you’ll have seen our Managing Director Rowan on Canon’s stand in the new video, which was being played at both events. We understand it’s going to be released online soon, so watch this space!
And that’s not all!
Speaking of festivals, we also need to give a special shoutout to RecFest at Knebworth Park. We returned to RecFest for a second year to provide roaming video and photo coverage of the festival-style recruitment event. Our team of eight had a wonderful day, despite the July heatwave.
And we’d also like to shout out Southampton’s own Music In The City festival. We provided roaming camera coverage there again this year – also for a second time. We love being part of this local, grassroots music celebration.
Video podcasts for University of Southampton and Henry Schein One
Podcasting has never been more popular, and 2025 proved it. This year we produced podcasts for two of our clients; the University of Southampton and Henry Schein One.
For Henry Schein One, we’ve recorded a number of in-person episodes of their recently launched podcast “Spilling the Teath”. The podcast features conversations between host Alan Mutton and dental industry experts. It’s a fantastic example of using podcasting for content marketing.
We’ve also been working with the University of Southampton to produce their new podcast “Path to Uni”. This podcast features a panel of students who discuss what it’s like coming to university. Its purpose is to make the transition more approachable for future undergraduates. It’s a great initiative – and we also love the high production values of this studio-based podcast too! (Check out the photos above.)
Finally, we’ve continued our work on the University of Southampton’s audio-only podcast “Public Policy Pod”. We facilitated the recording of six episodes this year – and they’ve all been incredibly interesting. The most recent episodes have covered topics like sea bed carbon emissions. It’s well worth a listen!
Looking ahead to 2026, we only see the demand for podcasts growing. So if podcasting is part of your marketing strategy for next year, let’s have a chat – off mic! – and see how we can bring professional production quality to your show.
Ambitious promotional videos for ICE and University of Southampton
We started the year by working with ICE to produce a bold and creative promotional video for their new Smart Call Assist service. This project marked a shift from our usual work with ICE, which is typically training and case study content, in favour of a scripted, story-driven video. Prior to filming, we produced a full script and storyboard to articulate our vision. And in the edit, we brought in a Motion Graphic artist and a colourist to amp up the production value.
Our goal for the video was to help Smart Call Assist stand out at this year’s instalment of The Cleaning Show in London. And it certainly did! By delivering the final video on XR headsets, visitors to ICE’s stand could put on glasses with holographic lenses to watch the film. It was a tremendous success, and encouraged greater engagement than if the video has simply been shown on a screen. Check out the full case study for this project.
Pushing the bar higher
Producing bigger, more ambitious promotional videos became a theme for us this year. Our exciting work with ICE set a bar that we continually aimed to pass as the year went on.
For example, we’ve recently been working on a new video for the University of Southampton’s Campus Kitchen team, showcasing the work they’re doing to bring greater sustainability and food quality to the university’s catering outlets. This included capturing footage at the university’s double rosette awarded restaurant The Blue Room.
For this project, we pushed ourselves technically and creatively. Despite being an interview-based video, we spent time prior to each shoot scripting and storyboarding what the video was going to include, and detailing exactly what shots we hoped to capture before we set foot on location. We also hired prime lenses and a probe lens to get beautiful shots of the food being prepared.
Our own mission for this project was to deliver TV quality on a corporate video budget – and we think we achieved it. The final video will be made available early next year, after some initial screenings later this week.
As more companies create video content in-house using smartphones, entry level camera equipment and generative AI, we know that – more than ever – our clients are coming to us because they need that higher-end professional approach.
We’re excited to be pushing what can be achieved within typical corporate video budgets, giving more of our clients access to high-end video production at sensible prices!
End-to-end video production and live streaming projects for LSE and Operose Health
As a video production and live streaming company, we adore projects that let us flex both of those muscles at once. After all, we don’t have separate divisions for video and live – we’re one relatively small team which enjoys both types of production equally.
This year, one of those projects was for LSE: The London School of Economics and Political Science. We were brought in to deliver a live stream as part of their widening participation program, LSE Navigate.
This involved producing a 30 minute pre-recorded video (known as a “VT”) which we filmed over two days on campus in London. The VT featured campus tours, interviews with staff and a guided tour from several students. The final video was then streamed at an online welcome event in August and led seamlessly into a live Q&A with a panel of students, which we also produced. In fact, the same team worked on both parts of the project, providing total continuity.
Another similar end-to-end project this year was for Operose Health, the UK’s biggest GP chain. We worked with Operose Health to produce their online Care Quality Conference in June. For this event, we provided a full day multicamera live stream, where members of the Operose Health team delivered presentations and updates for the wider company. These live segments were interspersed with pre-recorded videos which we’d filmed in the months prior.
Providing an end-to-end service for these events gave our clients a completely seamless, hassle-free experience. There was no back and forth managing multiple suppliers, and there was no confusion over who would be responsible for which part of the production. We simply handled it all in-house!
This makes these projects a real flex of what we do at Southpoint Films. And it’s something that makes us different from many of our peers. If you’re planning an event next year and are looking for a video supplier who can handle both your video production and live streaming requirements in equal measure, let’s talk!
Looking ahead to 2026
Of course, there have been plenty of other fantastic moments and projects this year. We couldn’t possibly list them all!
