University of Southampton – Cooking Lesson Videos

We were asked by the University of Southampton’s catering team to film a series of interactive cooking lessons at Boldrewood Campus. These hands-on sessions give students the opportunity to cook alongside a professional chef, learning step-by-step recipes, expert techniques and essential cooking skills.

For each session, we used a two-camera setup, one locked-off to focus on the chef, while the second provided close-ups of key demonstrations and shots of the students. The chef was mic’d up to ensure clear audio, which we later enhanced with subtitles for accessibility. The videos were then tightly edited to keep them concise, engaging, and easy to follow.

The finished cooking lesson videos were published on Youtube, making them available to all students, allowing them to learn at their own pace and recreate delicious meals with confidence.
