Our Smallest Travel Setup For International Event Filming
How do you film a major corporate event when you can only bring what fits on a plane?
We recently traveled to Germany to capture content for a client, using a highly efficient setup designed for rapid transit and maximum versatility. This streamlined approach allowed us to navigate trains, buses, and venues easily without compromising on production quality.
Inside just two cases, we carried everything required to capture a busy conference schedule. This included two lightweight cameras, compact battery-powered interview lighting, wireless audio kits, and dedicated tools to capture the audio and presentation slides directly from the venue’s A/V system.
By choosing multi-use gear, compact lenses, and lightweight lighting setups, we kept travel costs low for our client. Packing light also meant less stress during transit and faster setup times on location. Check out the video above to see all of the different kit we used, and why we chose it for this specific project.
While the gear makes the job happen, what we delivering is more important. With this set up we were able to produce:
- Recordings of the presentations in full
- “B Roll” of key breakout sessions
- professional interviews
- and high-quality stills.
To meet a fast deadline and impress attendees, we carried out an on-location edit. This mean that most of the media was edited while were in Germany, straight after the event finished. It went live the day after a conference closed.
Sharing these behind-the-scenes glimpses helps illustrate how professional video production can fit seamlessly into tight schedules. If you’re planning an upcoming international event, let’s start a conversation about your content strategy!
