Thorner’s Homes – 360° VR Almshouse Tour

We were commissioned by Thorner’s Homes to film a virtual tour at one of their almshouses in Southampton. The charity provides accommodation to women aged 55 and over, who are widowed or are otherwise in need.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Thorner’s Homes were unable to host in-person viewings for several unoccupied flats in the building. This is where we stepped in – by providing them with a virtual tour through our 360° video production service.

Over the course of two hours, we captured 360° videos and stills in three flats and in the communal areas of the building. These were taken away, edited by our team and then uploaded to Thorner’s Homes’ YouTube Channel. The end result is a short video that shows prospective residents what’s on offer.

By using a 360° VR video, Thorner’s Homes have been able to limit visitors to the building. This has helped mitigate the risk of COVID-19 coming into the building, keeping residents safe. It’s also helped the team qualify enquiries, reducing the amount of time spent showing people around. Now, with their 360° video, prospective residents can get a full view before even stepping into the building.
