CAA Approved Aerial Videography Southampton

Good news! We’re now able to offer CAA approved aerial video and photography services in-house. This follows the successful training and certification of our video team, including Managing Director Rowan Johnson.

Why is this important?

Before drones can be used for commercial activities, pilots must undergo training and certification from the CAA. (The Civil Aviation Authority.) This process ensures that all drone flights are safe and don’t interfere with the activities of other aircraft. A correctly certified company will have a “Permission for Commercial Operation” (PfCO) from the CAA.

The penalties for incorrect use of drones can be severe, so staying on the right side of the rules is essential. The last thing anybody wants is to cause an accident. (Or end up on the front page of a newspaper!)

How does this impact you?

Over the past few years we’ve been able to offer aerial services through trusted suppliers. However, our recently awarded PfCO allows us to bring our aerial services in-house.

Not only does this give us more flexibility for using drones for video and photography work, but our PfCO allows us to include aerial videography within our standard production rates. It’s no longer an additional outsourced cost. This allows us to offer blended ground and aerial filming within our standard day rates. (Conditions apply.)

Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) within creative video projects provides a unique perspective. Drones offer views unlike any other when filming outdoors or in large indoor spaces.

If you’re in need of aerial videography or want more information about using aerial video within your business, please get in touch. We can’t wait to capture some stunning aerial imagery over the coming summer months!
